Check before you go! Japanese swimming pool rules.

1. If you have tattoos, Cover them up!

Although Japan is more tolerant of fashion tattoos and other forms of tattooing than before, there is still a sense of “not good”. Many swimming pools have a form of restriction on the use of people with tattoos. If you have tattoos, you need to wear a rash guard. If you have tattoos in other places that cannot be covered, like behind your ears or fingers, you need to prepare foundation tape or other ways in advance.

2. Patterns of requirements

In Japan, popular night pools are held from July to mid-September. Each night pool has different “open hours,” “age restrictions,” “usage patterns,” etc. Check the details of the night pool you are interested in beforehand.

In Shibuya-ku, some swimming classes are held in English, so if you feel that attending a Japanese-language school from the beginning would be a bit difficult for your children, please check the English swimming classes!
